Scripture Reading – Psalm 51
To get on victory ground for your family, take some time to pray:
Father, show me areas where I need to take back ground that I have yielded to Satan. Identify my key issues. I plead the blood of Jesus over each of these. I renounce these strongholds and my sin. I submit to You to be filled with Your righteousness in these areas. By Your Spirit, I promise to keep a clean slate with You every day. In Jesus’ name, amen.
Make a list of each of the following:
Lies you have believed (fear of failure, rejection, punishment, etc.), defense mechanisms (denial, withdrawal, blame, shame, etc.), painful memories, or emotions that won’t go away.
Unforgiveness that has taken root around any wounds and scars you may have (abandonment, rejection, shame, fear of failure, punishment). List people who have wronged you. List people you have hurt and/or those you resent or need to forgive.
Any rebellion. Remember that rebellion is the same as the sin of witchcraft. Are there people or institutions you have been rebellious against?
Evidence of areas of pride in your life.
Ties that compete with God. List people that have strongly influenced you unrighteously and specify how. List a way of life you are tied to (people-pleasing, location, social set, occupational environment, etc.). List addictions, vows, inner vows (“I will never…”).
Generational bondages. List major unrighteous character traits of close relatives (living or dead) and curses at work in your family line.
